Vracar marketplace has been in business since 1926 and it was constructed in "Kalenica guvnu" - a plot of land which was one of many foundations of the rich trader Vlajko Kalenic.

Vlajko Kalenic inherited his estate from his father, who was a shoemaker by trade.
