The first bridge in Belgrade was constructed in the Roman ages, but there's no remaining info on whether it was a wooden or a pontoon bridge.
The first documented bridge existed in 1596 and was constructed by linking together 45 boats at Sava's confluence into Danube.
During the Austria and Turkey war in 1663, a pontoon bridge was made across Danube totalling 77 floating segments and on Sava 36 floating segments.
