Madera restaurant is a cult location that tells its story every day with delicious meals, wines and high quality service and ambiance.
Madera restaurant is a national and international cuisine restaurant always prepared to meet the guests with original dishes in its daily offer and new offers on the menu. We are also one of the rare restaurants who has an organic veal offer:
We also have a daily offer of Japanese food for everyone who enjoys that kind of cuisine.
Madera restaurant is located in a city zone with a long past. The part of today’s Kralja Aleksandra boulevard from Takovska to Belgrade street was famous as Fisedzgijska carsija because that area was delegated by Milos Obrenovic to sell gunpowder and funnels.
In the place where the restaurant is located today there used to be the Smederevo tavern where carriage riders and amals used to gather. Then in the spirit of the modern times a new building was erected whose ground floor houses Madera restaurant since 1937.
The stories say that the restaurant got its name when one of the guests brought the excellent wine of the Portuguese Madeira island.
In this restaurant is the meeting place of the city bohemians, artists and journalists who have collectively been dubbed the ‘maderanians’. Among them are Dr. Aca Obradovic, Predrag Milojevic, Ljuba Tadic, Miroslav Radojcic, Den Tana, Miljan Miljanic, Slava Djukic, Ljubisa Vukadinovic, Dragoslav Sekularac and others.
Today’s modern appearance has existed since May 2003.
The restaurant today welcomes ladies and gentlemen of Belgrade and also many high profile visitors from other countries and their embassies.
It would be our honor and pleasure for you to join our many guests.
Welcome!
