The building was built in 1907, as the second major architectural project created jointly by Andre Stevanovic and Nikola Nestorovic. During the planning of construction, they were both under the impression of the great Paris Exhibition in 1900 where the most popular style was decorativism from the Paris school.

On this project Nestorović was in charge of the basics while Stevanovic workied on the structural system. Together they worked on the facade, which is designed by Stevanovic’s approximate solution while Nestorović did the details, and also for the most part created the interior, whereas a solution Stevanovic care of some details .
